@ 버스 정보 : It's clean, comfortable, safe, and cheap(25유로/US$35?). Buses from dozens of different bus companies leave the Esenler bus station (the "Esenler otogar", the main bus station on the European side of Istanbul). I've always taken the Has Turizm bus, but any Sofia bus run by the major bus companies will work perfectly well. "Has" buses leave for Sofia twice daily, once in late morning and once in late evening. 95% of the time, reservations are not necessary. The trip is about 9 hours.
