Travel may be wholly on AS but can still be subject to another airline's bag charges, refer to your travel confirmation to determine which airline's baggage policy applies. When Alaska Airlines baggage policy applies, the following rules and fees are in effect:

Each checked bag must weigh 50 pounds (23Kg)or less and have a maximum dimension of 62 linear inches (157cm) (length + height + width) to avoid additional charges.

Baggage charges can be paid when checking in online using Web Check-In, at an airport kiosk, with our iPhone or Android mobile apps, or at the ticket counter. For faster service, use your debit or credit card when checking in.

To ensure your checked bags are loaded onto your flight, we're only able to accept checked bags within four hours* of scheduled flight departure times. Review our Check-In and Boarding Guidelines to determine ticket counter hours, as they may not open until closer to your departure time.

Please download the tag below, fill out the information and place it inside your checked bag(s). In the case of a misplaced bag, this tag can help expedite the identification and return process.

Baggage Charges and Allowances

We accept baggage subject to the standard charges outlined below. Each bag, including bags accepted free of charge, must weigh 50 pounds or less and have a maximum dimension of 62 linear inches (length + height + width) to avoid additional charges.

For domestic travel, charges are assessed to the destination or first stopover of 12 hours or more on a single ticket. Checked baggage charges must be paid again by passengers who continue their journey and check bags after a stopover of 12 hours or more.

For international travel solely on Alaska Airlines, charges are assessed to the destination or first stopover of 24 hours or more on single ticket. Checked baggage charges must be paid again by passengers who continue their journey and check bags after a stopover of 24 hours or more.

For international travel involving another carrier, charges are assessed at the origin and destination only on a single ticket.
